You don’t have to travel far to get a full Cotswolds experience when staying at Park Cottage. In fact, whether you are staying for 1 night or 1 month, there is plenty to keep you and your family busy right on your doorstep in Minchinhampton, right throughout the year. Here are a few of our top tips for a fulfilling break:
Whether it’s the annual Country Show, Summer street party, Bonfire Night, plays at the Market House, live music at the Crown or Cotswold Club, there is full calendar of events and activities to occupy the whole family throughout the year. Checkout the Minch Life website for live updates and dates to plan your visit
Cows and horses roam free around Minchinhampton from May to October – it’s always a lovely surprise to be welcomed to the village by our friendly neighbours. Nearby Amberley Cow Hunt is an annual event – and great fun for the kids!
This is a great short walk (1.5miles) right from your doorstep, incorporating views, village life and the common. Make it even better when you include a stop at the Crown, Amalfi or Henry’s! There is an extended version, and hundreds of other superb local walks, which you can check out in our guides and maps at the cottage or on our website.
An absolute corker of a Circus! A different theme each year, it usually arrives on the common for 2 weeks each Summer. Definitely worth booking ahead for. And for an added bonus, book into their pop-up restaurant Circus Sauce for some incredible food and company.
Pop into the market square to try Henry’s for great coffee, brunch, pastries, and children’s colouring sheets that keep everyone happy. We recommend the breakfast brioche!
A belter of a local with great seasonal food and a good beer selection, a log fire in winter, live music on Friday nights, and a lovely garden terrace for those long summer evenings.
A welcoming spot for a pot of tea, good coffee, homemade cakes and sandwiches. Perfect after a walk.
There are hundreds of great cycle routes for beginners to seasoned professionals. You are welcome to bring your own bikes (we have secure storage) or you can hire them from nearby Five Valley Cycles.
We have not one but two golf courses here at Minchinhampton! Check out their websites Old Course or Golf Club for more details
A great little playground located on the edge of the Village on Common Road (towards Hampton Green). Great for tiring the kids out before heading to the Crown for a well deserved drink!
